Treat Yourself.

I saw a car ad where the slogan was "Treat Yourself." Something was wrong with this slogan, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.

I still can't actually.

It seemed like an odd thing to say when you're trying to sell a car. Maybe it's a one-time disposable car that you just burn out in one use. Now that would be a treat.

I think, actually, it has more to do with the word "treat." Aside from knowing the meaning of the word, I don't think it sounds like something pleasant. Rather, it sounds like a birth defect or something of that ilk.

But really, do some people actually need to be reminded to be good to themselves occasionally?
